Speed returns disposition and repair – get reusable parts back to work, fast

Optimizing use of returned and repaired service parts helps keep inventory costs down and service levels up. How do you get reusable parts back quickly, into the right point in the network, and make them visible to everyone who might need them? Service technicians, focused on solving customer problems, may let days or weeks go by before processing returned parts.

One Network speeds returns disposition by making it easy. As soon as a service call is completed, just scan in a part’s barcode or RFID tag (or key in the serial number), and send the data wirelessly to the One Network system. You get immediate disposition instructions based on business rules.

Speed Returns Disposition

  • Company policy may dictate a maximum number of times a given part can be repaired. If the part has reached this limit, One Network will instruct the technician to scrap it in the field.
  • If the part is under warranty, One Network may issue an RMA number and instructions to ship it directly to the warranty repair center.
  • If excess exists in the network, the part may be scrapped in the field despite the fact that it is under warranty, to reduce inventory carrying costs.

Speed Repairs

  • The system may expedite a return to fulfill an urgent need for the part elsewhere in the network. It can identify a repair depot with the skills and capacity to perform the repair, track the part through the process, and specify direct shipment from the depot to fulfill the customer need.

One Network’s reverse logistics solution lets you track the status of every part in the extended service value network and maximize use of returned assets.
